High School Courses Taken in Middle School and Expunging

This process only applies to students in middle school during the 2011-2012 school year.  If your child has taken  a high school course while in middle school (such as Algebra, Geometry, or any world language) they may elect to have the grade expunged from their high school record and may take the course again for high school for credit.  Failing grades will automatically be expunged. Students receiving a low grade in these classes should consider expunging and taking the course again. The form will be included in all final report cards for all middle school students.  The forms are also linked below.

Rising 6th and 7th graders should use the Request to Expunge Grade in High School Course taken in 6th-7th grade form.  There is also a Request to Expunge Grade in High School Courses taken in 6th-7th grade expunging form in Spanish.  These forms should be submitted to the grade level counselor as soon as possible.  Please have them to the middle school counselors before June 22, 2012.

Once a grade is removed from the academic record it will not be counted in GPA or count towards credit for graduation.  The decision to expunge is irreversible.  Forms must be submitted to the school your child will attend in the 2012-2013  year.

Raising ninth graders must complete the form and deliver it to the high school guidance director at the high school your child will be attending no later than August 15th.  The form can be found online at expunging form in English and there is also expunging form in Spanish.
