Banneker's resource teachers strive to provide a unique learning experience designed to meet each child’s individual needs and abilities. The resource teacher teaches to the many learning styles that our students possess. The inclusion model is used where collaboration between your child's general education teachers maximizes the student's learning. Both collaborative as well as consultative, this involves all team members. The resource teacher offers support for parents and classroom teachers, suggesting strategies, classroom accommodations, and modifications that foster success for the students. Assessing the student’s strengths and weaknesses and closely monitoring academic progress is provided. You are strongly encouraged to keep the communication lines open by sharing any suggestions and/or concerns you may have. It is always interesting to hear from parents what is working well.
