Registration for the 2025 Summer in the Arts program is now closed as we have reached full capacity. We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest from the community.

What is Summer in the Arts (SIA)? SIA is an arts enrichment program for Loudoun County students entering grades 6 - 10 in fall of 2025. The program offers a variety of classes, including theatre, instrumental, vocal music, visual arts, robotics, makerspace, cooking, baking and more.

Cost: $425 for the first child, $400 for each additional child.

Payment is due by May 23, 2025, by 5 p.m. Requests for withdrawals and refunds, minus the $25 processing fee, must be submitted to SIA@lcps.org by May 30, 2025.

Families needing financial support for program fees should contact SIA Director Kathleen Pollock at SIA@lcps.org for assistance.

Transportation: Parents may provide their own transportation, or LCPS offers bus transportation from regional elementary, middle and high schools. If you want transportation, you MUST select this during the registration process.

What you need to register:

  1. LCPS students - Student LCPS identification number

  2. If you are a parent of a homeschooled child living in Loudoun County, you can still register. You will simply note this during the registration.

SIA Internship Opportunity

The Summer in the Arts Internship Program is for students who will be entering the 10th - 12th grades in the fall of 2025. These students should be individuals who excel in one or more areas of the visual, performing, or creative arts and have the desire to share their passion for the arts with younger students. In addition to being strong student artists, applicants should be responsible, motivated, trustworthy and committed. Prior attendance in the Summer in the Arts Program is not required and will not affect candidacy for this internship.

The internship will run from June 23-July 3rd, 2025, at Briar Woods High School

Note: Inability to be present for all dates may jeopardize your candidacy for the internship.

Mandatory Intern Daily Duties:

  • Some heavy lifting of tables, boxes, display board panels (in each classroom)

  • Moving supplies between locations

  • Assisting SIA Teachers and the Office

  • Cutting paper and stapling artwork

How to Apply for the Summer in the Arts Internship Program:

  1. Complete this Permission Click application form in its entirety by April 1, 2025.

  2. Submit TWO teacher recommendation Google Forms by April 15, 2025.

Please note that failure to submit the appropriate forms will result in the termination of your application!

Summer in the Arts Intern Application Deadline is April 1, 2025.

Teacher recommendation forms need to be completed and submitted by April 15, 2025.
