Even though it is Summer learning never ends for our staff
ActivLoudoun Plus – Nine of the fantastic Lucketts ES staff members and myself spent an entire day focused on technology integration when we attended the LCPS ActivLoudoun Plus Technology Conference on June 12th. I can tell you first hand that our teachers are continuing to look for ways to provide high yield learning opportunities utilizing technology integration into the classroom. With over 90 presentations to choose from we attended a variety of sessions/topics that will only enhance the learning opportunities for your children.

Recognizing Outstanding Teachers
The end of the school year is often a time when we celebrate the accomplishments of our students. It is also the time of year when we celebrate the accomplishments of our teachers. Three of teachers received recognition for their outstanding efforts in their field. Ms. Chamberlin, Ms. Britton, and Ms. Olshavsky
Ms. Judi Britton, our reading teacher, and Ms. Jill Olshavsky, our physical education teacher, were recognized by Shenandoah University as nominees for Teacher of the Year. Both teachers received awards and the Shenandoah University Teacher of the Year Reception held in mid- May. Ms. Chamberlin, one of our first grade teachers, was recognized as an Agnes Meyer Award Nominee. Ms. Chamberlin was recognized as the Agnes Meyer Awards Dinner in late May.
Ms. Jill Olshavsky - is completing her sixth year of teaching with all six years of teaching completed in Loudoun County Public Schools System. She provides physical education instruction to students in first through fifth grades at Lucketts Elementary School and Lovettsville Elementary School. Lucketts Elementary School is her “home school” as she is the lead physical education teacher. Ms. Olshavsky is a highly skilled teacher who has made a positive impact on her students in many ways. We are lucky to have her at Lucketts ES.
Ms. Judi Britton- supports our teachers as they continue to grow in their understanding of literacy development. She models lessons and provides staff development opportunities to insure that our teachers are implementing best practices in literacy development of their students. Ms. Britton has ingratiated herself to the staff. They respect her and view her as a teacher leader.
Ms. Lauren Chamberlin - is a highly successful veteran teacher who is completing her sixth year of teaching and her fourth year of teaching at Lucketts Elementary School. She is teaching a class of 21 first grade students during the 2012-2013 school year. Students of all ability levels are challenged in Ms. Chamberlin’s classroom. She has ingratiated herself to staff, students, and parents.
