Mrs. Loy is very excited to serve as the Reading Specialist at Frederick Douglass and to be a charter member of the Star staff.   This will be her sixth year as a reading specialist, and her twentieth year in education.  She previously taught first grade in Loudoun County and Kindergarten in Maryland.

Mrs. Loy is originally from Buffalo, New York.  She graduated from the State University of NY at Fredonia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education.  She earned a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from Salisbury University and a Master’s Degree in Reading Education from Old Dominion University.
