Q: What will happen to the meals and money on my child's account at the end of the school year?

A: It remains on your child's account.  If your child returns to the same school, the meals and money will be on your child's account on the first day of school in August.  If your child is moving to a new school in Loudoun County, the meals and money on account will be moved to the new school.  

PAYMENT INFORMATION

Horizon Elementary uses a computerized system for keeping track of student meal funds. Every student is assigned a personal identification number.   After making meal selections on the serving line, students type their ID numbers on a numeric keypad placed near the cashier.  When the student arrives at the cashier's station, the student's account is displayed on the computer screen.  The student account screen includes a picture of the student and other information, such as food allergies.  With the strike of a few keys, the student's lunch is deducted from the balance of prepaid meals or the screen indicates that cash payment is needed.

How can I pre-pay for my child's lunch?  It's easy!  Send a check to the cafeteria or visit Café Prepay at  http://www.pay4lunch.com.

LUNCH SCHEDULE

Parents and other visitors are always welcome to have lunch at school.  Guest lunches cost $3.70.  We would appreciate a call or note before 8:00 a.m. so that the cafeteria staff can be notified. The lunch schedule is determined by the student's class. Please check with your child’s teacher as to the best time to arrive.
