F.L.E.S. stands for Foreign Language in the Elementary Schools. At Leesburg Elementary, students in grades 4 and 5 learn Spanish along with different aspects related to the culture of those countries where this language is spoken.
Grades 4 and 5 are visited by the F.L.E.S. teacher one time per week for a 30 minute lesson.
"The mission of the LCPS Foreign Language Program is to
develop linguistic proficiency and cultural sensitiviy in students, beginning at an early age, so that they may participate
as productive citizens in a global community."
