Executive Board Elections were held at the May 16th PTA meeting.

The library is accepting donations for the used book sale that will be held the last week of May/first week of June. For every ten books donated, your child will earn a coupon to purchase one book at the sale. Please be sure to include your child’s name and teacher on any donations. We are accepting all types of books for all age groups! Great way to stock up on summer reading at a very reasonable price. Stay tuned for more information about sale days and hours. If you wish to volunteer to set up the sale on Friday, May 24th, please contact lisa@mcgrail.com

Important Event Announcements:

The PTA has decided not to sell school supply packs for the upcoming school year. Cost and poor quality were 2 of the major reasons for stopping the program this year.

The End-of-Year PTA dance has been cancelled due to low attendance the past 2-3 years.

Sanders Corner Elementary School will be hosting a Memorial 5K in Kathy Hwang's name on November 17, 2013. More details to come.

Why join the PTA? The cost is $10.00 per member and $6.75 comes directly back to the PTA's funds to start purchasing items for our students. Such purchases include scholastic books, computer software/equipment, and classroom supplies. The Membership and directory form is available online. Please click on the forms and documents link on the left for a membership form. The remaining $3.25 supports the state and national PTA and its legislature for the advocacy of all children. It also helps with leadership training throughout the school year and summer.

Collect those Box Tops for your school again this year.

Mrs. Allison Little is our new Box Tops Chairperson this year. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Little at littlemellin@gmail.com For every Box Top that you save and send in, the PTA will receive $.10. Please place in a bag with 25 labels, label it with your child's name and teacher's name and turn them in at school. Once a month, the class with the most labels turned in will receive the Box Top bear to remain in their classroom until the next contest ends and the teacher will receive a treat for his/her classroom!
