Detar, Sharon - STEP / Biography

Greetings from Mrs. Detar !

I am very happy to be teaching STEP Preschool at Rolling Ridge and am excited about all the learning adventures and fun that await us this year! I love the sense of wonder, enthusiasm for learning, curiosity, and humor that my young students bring into the classroom. I have been teaching preschool children for 19 years. This is my 11th year at Rolling Ridge and my 15th year in LCPS. Before moving to Loudoun County, I taught in the Christina School District in Delaware for four years. I completed my education in Early Childhood Education and Special Education at the University of Delaware. I live in Ashburn with my husband, Dennis, and have two children (Matt and Kristine) who have completed college and are now working adults!

Mrs. Trivett is our teaching assistant. She has also been at Rolling Ridge in the STEP preschool program for the past 11 years. She lives in Purcellville with her family (husband Mike and daughters Mackenzie and Brooke). Her oldest daughter, Brooke, is in college at Slippery Rock University in PA. MacKenzie is in middle school.
