As we look ahead to the next five years, our focus remains clear: every student should feel that they belong, know they are cared for and supported, and have the opportunity to be successful. While academic success remains our core mission, strategic planning helps us identify all that we do together to ensure our students thrive.
Our current One LCPS: 2027 Strategic Plan for Excellence has helped us focus our work and set priorities for our school division. Now, we are looking ahead and developing a new strategic plan for 2027–2032. This plan will help us build on what is working, respond to where we need to grow and provide the Board and our community with clarity about the direction LCPS will take over the next five years.
Over the past year, a Strategic Planning Team made up of educators, parents, students, community members, advisory members, School Board representatives and division leaders has worked together to develop draft goals and strategies for the new plan. The team considered input from students, families, staff and community members gathered through focus groups, committees, surveys and other conversations.
Now, we want to hear from you.
We are inviting students, families, staff and community members to review the draft goals and strategies and share what you think. Your experiences and ideas will help us understand what our community sees as most important and where we should focus our collective energy over the next five years.
We are using ThoughtExchange, an online platform that allows you to share your own perspective and rate the ideas of others. This will help us see both individual perspectives and the priorities emerging across our community.
Visit the Strategic Plan ThoughtExchange webpage between Sept. 16 and Oct. 1 to learn more and participate.
