Academics
Resources
I hope you had a great summer and are ready for a new and exciting school year! As a Family Liaison, I look forward in assisting you and supporting our students to focus on their academics and social success at school; therefore, my main goal is to make a strong connection between home and school.
If your family needs assistance with resources at school and the community, I’ll be glad to provide them to you with complete confidentiality. The attached form presents the services accessible throughout the year. Our family assistance services are available to families who:
Run into circumstances which create significant financial hardship (e.g. illness, divorce),
Are occasionally without income (e.g. job loss),
Live in poverty (based on the Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines).
If your family meets these criteria, please complete the attached form and return it to school in a sealed envelope addressed to Pamela Anguis Arauco, Parent Liaison. If you need assistance but do not meet these requirements or if you anticipate any difficulty this year, please continue to complete the attached form and we will do our best to meet your needs.
In addition, if your family would like to support this program, please click on the link below “I Would Like to Assist”. You could also contact me directly at 571.252.2050 or by email at Pamela.AnguisArauco@lcps.org. We can establish how you can provide to our families with their current needs.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Pamela Anguis Arauco

The PEP program in LCPS promotes parent engagement in the school community for parents whose primary language is not English. PEP program participants attend classes to learn about the educational system in the United States and LCPS, gaining information that will enable them to be decision makers and advocates in their children's education.
PEP teachers at your school are trained and given the resources needed to help you become a successful partner in your child's education. Contact your school PEP teacher, Sarah Loredo at sarah.loredo@lcps.org, or Jennifer Baker at jennifer.l.baker@lcps.org to get more information.
Smart's Mills Middle School is hosting a PEP meeting for parents who would like to learn how to help their child's transition to middle school. Please fill out the attachment below and return it to the teacher by May 3rd.
