Teacher, Principal, and New Teacher of the Year
The nomination window for the 2024-2025 school year is now open! Nominations can be submitted by staff, parents, students and/or community members for an outstanding employee based on their exemplary performance. It is highly recommended that parents contact the school principal or assistant principal if they desire to submit a nomination for a teacher, as the admin team will be able to help coordinate a solid nomination packet. Self-nominations, or submissions from an employee's relative, will not be accepted. Award winners from the 2023-2024 school year are not eligible. A selection committee composed of current LCPS staff and community members will review nomination materials and use a standardized rubric to determine winners. Performance and past evaluations will be considered. To nominate an outstanding employee, submit a completed nomination form using the link below by 5:00 pm, Friday, March 7, 2025:
2024-2025 LCPS Annual Awards Nomination Form
Note: The nomination form is a Google form. To assist nominators in developing well rounded submissions, we are providing the criteria and guiding questions in written form so nominators can work on the answers independently, then cut/paste final responses into the Google form. Please see Criteria/Guiding Questions for each category.
Winners will be selected and notified in April and honored at school board meetings and individual locations in May. In addition, nominees* for Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year, along with winners of New Teacher of the Year will be honored at the Outstanding Educators Banquet on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Stone Tower Winery, sponsored by the Loudoun Education Foundation.
*In the event nominations for multiple teachers from the same school are submitted, the selection committee may choose one finalist as the nominee from that school. That finalist will attend the Teacher of the Year banquet.
Please reach out to Carrie.Simms@lcps.org with any questions regarding our awards programs.
