Anne Donohue

School Board Member, At-Large 

Anne Donohue is the At-Large Board Member, representing all of Loudoun County. She grew up in southern Illinois, where she attended K-12 public schools and earned a scholarship to study at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia, where she obtained a summa cum laude, dual bachelor's degree in German and Classical Studies. She then obtained her J.D. from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, New York. Anne has been admitted to practice law in Massachusetts since 2005.  

Anne worked as a law clerk at the Superior Court of Massachusetts and Massachusetts Appeals Court. She then represented her community as an appellate prosecutor for the Middlesex District Attorney's Office in Massachusetts for six and a half years.  

In 2014, Anne was honored to join the U.S. Department of Justice's National Security Division.  After six years at NSD -- working as a line attorney, supervisor and on a two-year detail to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence -- Anne transferred to DOJ's Civil Division. She left the Department in the fall of 2023. Anne is an adjunct professor at the George Washington University Law School and spent several years as a volunteer ESL instructor.  

Anne has been an active volunteer in the Loudoun community for years, working with Loudoun Moms Demand Action, Loudoun NAACP, Loudoun League of Women Voters, Loudoun County Animal Services, Loudoun 4H, Loudoun Chorale, Northern Virginia Cake4Kids, local youth sports, her children's school and St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church. Anne lives in the Leesburg area with her spouse, their two children, ages 6 and 10, plus three cats, a rabbit, a guinea pig, a peacock, five chickens and two beehives.

Schools Represented: The At-Large member to the Loudoun County School Board is elected county-wide. Ms. Donohue represents all Loudoun County public schools.

Term of Office: Ms. Donohue was elected to the School Board in 2023; her term of office will expire on December 31, 2027.

Committee Assignments: Ms. Donohue chairs the Student Services Committee and serves on the Human Resources & Talent Development Committee and the Legislative, Audit & Policy Committee. She also serves as the liaison to the Loudoun Education Foundation.
