Executive Chef Erik Madsen has always had a passion for food. From a young age he took every opportunity to cook side by side with his mother and grandmother, giving him the influence of Danish, German, and American regional cuisines. He is a Culinary Arts graduate from The Johnson and Wales University, North Miami Campus.
Eager to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible, he has worked in many places across the United States:
from Southwestern and Mexican Cuisines in Tucson Arizona
Vegetarian Cuisine in Chico California
feeding a crew of 75 aboard a fishing vessel out of Dutch Harbor Alaska
With 35 years in the food service industry and a passion for all types of food, he has held the position of Executive Chef, Corporate Chef and Brand Ambassador in Italian, Mexican, Asian Fusion, Seafood, Steakhouse and American Regional restaurants. Accolades and appearances include “People’s Choice” Best Chef, Fox, NBC, ABC, Loudoun Eats, Jacksonville Magazine, The St. Augustine Record and NoVA Magazine.
Erik also has a 15 year old son who attends Stone Bridge High School. In his free time, he enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, reading, trying new restaurants, traveling and spending time with his dogs. Erik is very excited to begin this new chapter in his career with LCPS and looks forward to the positive influence he can make on the students through food.
