LCPS Update Graphic

LCPS launched a newly redesigned website on July 19, 2024! LCPS staff has been working to develop and migrate Division information into a platform that better reflects the community and program offerings, improves navigation for students, staff and families, and provides a revitalized "digital entrance" for new families interested in joining the Division.

New features include:

  1. Mobile phone responsive: The website information can adapt content based on the device used to view it.

  2. Updated navigation: The main menu and landing pages are organized to help find information efficiently.

  3. Consistent school websites and pages: Clear and consistent school websites honor each school community's individuality.

  4. Updated, user-friendly LCPS app: The new LCPS app provides an integrated and personalized window into what is happening across the Division and schools. Everything you want to know about your child's school experience can now be found anytime, like the Division's approved calendar, school board information and school lunch menus.

The app can be downloaded from Google Play or the iTunes App Stores. Additional information about the app is available on the LCPS website.

Information that may be helpful to understand during this website transition includes:

  • The website is built and hosted on a new platform: The website shifted from Blackboard to the Apptegy platform. When another company acquired Blackboard, it meant that the LCPS website would need to migrate to a new platform. The LCPS Communications and Technology teams have diligently worked to enhance the community's online experience with the new platform.

  • Web addresses will remain the same: The new website and corresponding updates have carried over web addresses/URLs to support easy access while remaining a comprehensive source of information for the Division.

  • Public Site versus the Secure Portals:  The LCPS and school websites are public-facing information-driven communication tools.  Students and parents can still access items like schedules and calendars, update personal data and retrieve other necessary documentation needed for school through the available portals.

    • ParentVue: The parent portal can be used to report tardies, absences and requests for early dismissal. Parents can also access parts of student records, grade book events, communications from teachers and an integrated calendar of various class and school dates and events.

    • StudentVue: The student version of ParentVue, students can access information like class schedules, grades, report cards, course history and more.

    • Schoology: Schoology learning management system is an integrated learning management system that provides one-stop access to everything students need for learning, including school-related assignments. Students, parents and teachers can connect and engage, whether learning in school or at a distance.

    • LINQ Connect: LINQ Connect is a secure, online meal payment system that allows parents to make an online payment to their children's cafeteria meal account, remotely monitor their children's accounts, set up automatic recurring payments and/or low balance e-mail message alerts and submit an online application for free and/or reduced meals.

    • Stopfinder: Stopfinder is an app that can provide school bus routes and stop information. The easy-to-use engagement app has multilingual options and helps parents locate the bus schedules, receive push notifications related to bus schedules and changes, get real-time information on the bus locations through GeoAlerts, bus substitution notifications and more.

  • Pardon Our Progress: Website users are invited and encouraged to visit the Division and school websites and explore the new changes and updates, but they are asked to do so with the understanding that the new site(s) is a work in progress. A migration of this magnitude has many layers, and users may experience downtime, buffering or other unexpected issues. The community's understanding and patience are appreciated as staff actively work to transfer and launch the new website while improving usability and accessibility for the LCPS community.

  • Feedback Matters! The community's constructive feedback is important as the project team and vendor strive to develop a valuable website for all users. Thoughts, suggestions, questions, comments, or concerns can be shared through the online feedback form

Thank you for taking the time to view the new changes and new ways to stay connected to everything the Division is doing for its students, staff and families.
