Potomac Falls High School yearbook adviser Emily Everett has been recognized in the prestigious HL Hall National Yearbook Adviser of the Year competition as a Special Recognition Adviser by the Journalism Education Association (JEA). Everett is one of only 10 advisers nationwide selected in the competition and among just three educators to receive the Special Recognition distinction. She will be honored at the JEA's spring conference in Seattle, Washington.

Under Everett’s leadership, the Legacy yearbook at Potomac Falls High School has consistently demonstrated excellence. In April 2024, the yearbook earned a “Pacemaker” award from the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA), an honor reserved for the top 8% of yearbooks in the country. Everett, who has advised the Legacy yearbook since 2011, is dedicated to guiding her students in capturing the spirit and stories of the Potomac Falls community. Her commitment to journalism and education has not only elevated the quality of the yearbook but also earned national recognition for her students’ hard work and creativity.

Congratulations to Emily Everett and the entire Legacy yearbook team on these outstanding accomplishments!
