Advisory Committee Update
The Gifted Education Advisory Committee (GEAC) provided an update with information on the initiatives and achievements made since the last report on June 11, 2024.
Work Session
The FY26 Superintendent’s Estimate of Needs (SEON) was presented for consideration by the Loudoun County School Board. An overview of the information contained in the SEON was provided. The FY26 Superintendent’s Estimate of Needs establishes budget priorities and investments in alignment with all four goals of the OneLCPS | 2027 Strategic Plan for Excellence.

Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem
The Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem were performed by the Eagle Ridge Middle School Chamber Orchestra.
Student/Staff Recognitions
Rosa Lee Carter Elementary School and Sterling Elementary School staff and students highlighted the significant achievements of their gifted and talent development programs and shared how the programs have fostered both academic excellence and social-emotional growth among their students. Attendees heard success stories demonstrating the programs’ positive impact on student development.

Highlights of the report include:
Brian Klippel has been named Executive Principal for Elementary Education.
Riverside High School Marching Rams shined at London’s New Year’s Day Parade.
Heritage High School students packed lunches for Leesburg Homeless Shelter.

Public Comment
Community members participated in person and virtually to provide the School Board with comments on a range of topics.
Action Items
The Board addressed two action items:
The School Board approved amended revisions of Policy 6120, Wellness.
The School Board approved staff to continue planning and provide regular updates through the Special Programs and Centers Committee on the LCPS Recovery School.
Information Items
The Board discussed numerous information items, including:
Recommended revisions and feedback on Policy 6320, Playgrounds.
Changes to Policy 2450, Board Minutes, to comply with updates from the Virginia State Code.
The Certification of Health and Safety Screening and the Certification of Governance and Leadership Capacity Screening of the newly awarded five-year Head Start Preschool grant.
