This past weekend, the 1st Annual Daryl Collette Memorial Cornhole Tournament brought the Ashburn community together to honor the legacy of a dedicated Rotary member while supporting education.
Students from the Academies of Loudoun showcased their creativity and craftsmanship by designing and building custom cornhole boards for the event in collaboration with the Ashburn Rotary Club. These boards were not only a highlight of the tournament held on Saturday, June 25, but also a testament to the power of community partnerships and hands-on learning.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Academies of Loudoun’s Automotive program, helping students gain the skills and resources needed to thrive in technical education.
A special thank you to the Rotary Club, Club of Broadlands-Dulles South, a chapter of Rotary International, for their ongoing commitment to community service since their charter in 1924. Together, we’re fostering a future where students, education and local partnerships make a lasting impact.
