Courtney Peckham, the Assistant Principal for Liberty Elementary School, was selected as the 2025 National Outstanding Assistant Principal for Virginia by the Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals (VAESP). Courtney learned of the recognition at a surprise school assembly in front of her colleagues, students, friends and family. The award was presented by VAESP Executive Director Krista Arnold.

Peckham has been with Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) for eleven years, having worked as a teacher, Dean and now Assistant Principal. Paul Pack, the principal of Liberty Elementary School, nominated her for the award and was very proud of her recognition. “Courtney is an amazing AP and has a bright future,” Pack said.

Peckham was at a loss for words as she thanked her students and colleagues. “Thank you all so much,” she told them. “Because of you, I love coming to work every day.”

She will receive her award at the VAESP conference later this year in Virginia Beach.
