The River Bend Middle School counseling program has been awarded its second American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation, with its first earned in 2020. This honor highlights the school’s commitment to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven counseling program that supports student success. The designation remains valid through the 2029-30 school year, reinforcing River Bend’s dedication to excellence in school counseling.

The RAMP designation recognizes schools that align their counseling programs with the ASCA National Model framework, demonstrating a commitment to student achievement, well-being and college and career readiness. This distinction signifies to administrators, school boards, families and the community that River Bend’s counseling program is an integral part of the school’s mission.

The application process requires schools to provide evidence of the impact of their counseling programs, including direct and indirect student services, program planning and improved student outcomes. To date, more than 1,300 schools nationwide have earned the RAMP designation.

River Bend joins other Loudoun County Public Schools in earning this distinction, including Forest Grove and Little River Elementary Schools, Smart’s Mill and Stone Hill Middle Schools and Freedom and Independence High Schools.
