LCPS Transportation Division hosted Academies of Loudoun Auto Mechanic students.

Community members participated virtually and in person to provide the School Board with comments on a range of topics.
Action Items
The Board addressed eight action items:
The School Board approved naming the J. L. Simpson Middle School auditorium after Ms.Beth Paquette, therefore named The Beth Paquette Fine Arts Center for a period of 10 years.
The School Board adopted the amended Student Behavior and Accountability Committee’s approved revisions of Policy 8280, Corporal Punishment Prohibited.
The School Board adopted the amended 2025-2026 Annual Plan for Special Education and Application for Federal Funds.
The School Board approved the 2025-2026 "Local Plan for Career and Technical Education (CTE) Perkins Funds” grant funding application.
The School Board approved the amended Finance & Operations Committee-approved revisions of Policy 6530, Changing School Attendance Zones.
The School Board voted to rename Mercer Middle School, located at 42149 Greenstone Drive in Aldie, Gum Spring Middle School – effective July 1, 2025.
The School Board voted to rename Frances Hazel Reid Elementary School, located at 800 North King Street in Leesburg, Mildred and Richard Loving Elementary School – effective July 1, 2025.
The School Board denied staff’s recommended retiree health insurance plan changes to be effective January 1, 2026 and voted to create a Select Committee to address needed changes.
