Job For a Day

Are you an LCPS 11th and 12th grade student interested in experiencing a workplace in an industry or career field on November 12, 2024 for a multi-hour career shadowing experience? If so, please complete the application below!

Date: 11/12/2024

Time: 9am to 4pm

Responsibilities: Complete application. Attend an orientation with your HS Career Center Assistant. Receive family/guardian permission. Provide own transportation to and from your matched worksite. Students will be matched according to their choices as best available, but the program also encourages students to have an open mind and learn from whichever experience is made available by the participating business community volunteer hosts.

Purpose: Give students a glimpse of a worksite, meet your business/industry professionals, learn about the different roles in a company/organization and leave with a better understanding of qualifications needed to enter a particular career field. Give students a chance to explore either a chosen career path or one that they may be interested in learning more about.

Experience preview: Panel discussion with multiple employees, students solve a current or relevant problem as part of a case study to better understand a career field or industry, students will ask questions, participate in mock interviews to understand the skills and qualifications needed for employment in a particular career field and industry.

Orientation: October date to be communicated by your HS Career Center Assistant.
