Continuity of Education Resources

LCPS has implemented a Continuity of Education plan to provide distance learning opportunities since schools closed on March 12. Information about the plan is available by visiting the website above.

LCPS Meals Service for Students

Loudoun County Public Schools has been providing meals to students since Friday, March 13. Monday through Friday, thousands of meals are prepared for students to pick up at any of 28 schools, and for delivery by bus to routes across the county. * Schedule Conferences and Meetings

• I will be happy to be your interpreter if your first language is Spanish. However, if you speak any other language and need an interpreter, I can arrange an interpreter that speaks your language.

• I can help you arrange meetings between you and your child’s teacher to discuss your concerns, share information, and understand your point of view.

• If at any time you would like to have a meeting with a teacher or a staff member to talk about your child’s academic performance, or don’t exactly know how you can help in the educational process, I can schedule a conference for you.

Here are some examples of the kind of conferences that you might need help with: -Regular Parent/Teacher Conferences -IEP Conferences -Eligibility Meetings and Special Education related meetings -Child Study Meetings and follow up documentation -Guidance Conferences -Emergency Meetings -Meetings requested by a parent just to know how you can help your child at home to be more successful. 

* Be Familiar with School Procedures

• Parent Liaisons will be available and present at Back to School Night and Parent School Orientations. As well as being available to assist during enrollment by phone or on site.

• If you need assistance with important communications between school and home, the Parent Liaison can help you understand them better.

• Parent Liaisons can provide valuable information about school procedures. They can provide parents with names and roles of administrators, teachers, and staff members in your child’s school.

• Parent Liaisons promote higher student achievement through positive relationships between parents and school personnel with confidentiality and respect. We encourage parent involvement in school.

* Informing You About Resources and Programs Available

Cómo me puede ayudar el Enlace Escolar?

* Calendarizando conferencias y juntas

• Me daría mucho gusto ser su intérprete si su primer idioma es el español. Sin embargo, a los padres que hablan otro idioma les podemos conseguir un intérprete que hable su idioma.

• Le puedo organizar una junta con algún maestro/a de su hijo/a para platicar sobre sus preocupaciones, compartir información y entender su punto de vista.

• Si en algún momento usted quiere tener una junta con cualquier miembro del personal para hablar sobre el progreso académico de su hijo/a, o no sabe exactamente como usted puede ayudar en el proceso educativo, yo le puedo calendarizar una conferencia. Aquí hay algunos ejemplos de las clases de conferencias en las que usted pueda necesitar de ayuda: -Conferencia Regular de Padres y Maestros -Conferencia de I E P (Programa Individualizado de Educación) -Juntas de Elegibilidad y relacionadas con Educación Especial -Juntas de documentación del Estudio del Niño y de seguimiento -Conferencias de Orientación -Juntas de Emergencia -Juntas requeridas por un padre solo para saber cómo puede ayudar usted en casa a que su hijo tenga mayor éxito.

* Familiarizándolo con los Procedimientos Escolares

• Los Enlaces Escolares estarán presentes en la Noche de Vuelta a la Escuela y en las Orientaciones Escolares para Padres. También estarán disponible durante las inscripciones por teléfono o en la escuela.

• Si usted necesita ayuda con comunicaciones importantes entre la casa y la escuela, el Enlace Escolar-Familiar le puede ayudar a entenderlos mejor.

• Los Enlaces Escolares pueden darle información valuable sobre los procedimientos escolares. Les pueden dar los nombres y los papeles que desempeñan administradores, maestros, y miembros del personal en la escuela de su hijo.

• El Enlace Escolar-Familiar promueve un rendimiento académico más alto a través de relaciones positivas entre el personal de la escuela y los padres con confidencialidad y respeto. Nosotros promovemos la participación de los padres en la escuela.

* Informándolo sobre recursos y programas disponibles

• Los Enlaces Escolares-Familiares ayudan refiriéndolos a agencias de la comunidad dándoles información sobre programas actuales y agencias que ayudan a la comunidad.
