Transcript Request & Release Process

Current Students

Your school counselor cannot send your transcript unless your parent/guardian has submitted a transcript release form. The transcript release form is available to parents of 12th grade students as part of the online verification process at the beginning of the year. If a parent needs to complete the transcript release after this time or is the parent of a 9th - 11th grade student, they must submit the Permission Click Transcript Release Form linked below.

College Application Transcript Requests

Login to SchooLinks through LCPS Go.  You will use the SchooLinks College Application Manager to add college applications and notify school counselors to submit your official transcript to a college/university. If applying via Common App, you must connect your Common App and SchooLinks accounts.

Non-College Application Transcript Requests

Login to SchooLinks through LCPS Go.  You will use the SchooLinks Records Requests to send your official transcript to any organization other than a college (i.e. NCAA, scholarship organization, employer).

Former Students & Alumni

LCPS offers a convenient and secure website for former students to request student information or records online.  Former students and alumni of Independence High School should submit transcript requests directly through ScribOrder and not through our current student transcript request form.

Class of 2025 Senior College Application Information

Parent/Guardian:

Submit Transcript Release Form

A parent/guardian must submit one transcript release form. This one transcript release form gives Independence HS permission to send your student's transcript to all of the college and scholarship applications you request a transcript for through SchooLinks. If the student is 18 years old, he/she may submit their own transcript request form.

The transcript release form is available to parents of 12th grade students as part of the online verification process at the beginning of the year. If a parent needs to complete the transcript release after this time, they must submit the Permission Click Transcript Release Form linked below.

Transcript requests must be submitted at least 3 weeks in advance of the deadline.

A mid-year transcript with 1st semester senior grades will automatically be sent to the colleges/universities you specified on your initial transcript request forms.

A final transcript will automatically be sent to the college indicated on your senior survey in May.

Submit Parent Insight Sheet

If the college your student is applying for requires a counselor letter of recommendation, please submit the Parent Insight Sheet.  This helps provide additional insight and perspective to write a letter of recommendation that fully captures your student's experience and strengths.

Student:

Add Colleges to SchooLinks or Common App

Students will use the College Application Manager within SchooLinks to request transcripts be sent to colleges they're applying to. Students will add each college they're applying to SchooLinks, which will notify their counselor that they would like their transcript to be sent to that institution.

Your school counselor cannot send your transcript unless your parent/guardian has submitted a transcript release form.

The counseling office requires 3 weeks to process your transcript and letter of recommendation requests. Please submit your brag sheet as soon as possible but no later than 3 weeks prior to the college's deadline. If you do not feel comfortable with teachers seeing your Brag Sheet in SchooLinks, you may submit our Insight Sheet as an alternative. Please account for school breaks and holidays.

When completing your applications, please remember the following:

  • Your cumulative GPA is weighted by LCPS

  • The LCPS grading scale is considered a 4.0 scale.
