The comprehensive school counseling program at Mill Run Elementary School provides counseling services focused on academic, personal/social and career development within a supportive, caring, nurturing environment that is developmentally appropriate for a diverse pool of learners to experience acceptance and achievement in school and to be prepared to lead fulfilling lives as life-long learners and responsible citizens of the world.

The school counselors at Mill Run Elementary School believe:

• All students can achieve academic, personal/social, and career milestones with proper support, care, and nurturing.

• School counselors advocate for all students with respect and appreciation for each student's unique individuality to include differences across culture, race, ethnicity, gender, ability, religion, home language, socio-economic status, and sexual orientation.

• A comprehensive school counseling program is an essential and integral part of the overall education process when data is used to drive
  program design and delivery.

• All students should have access to a comprehensive school counseling program that is planned, managed, delivered and evaluated by licensed professional school counselors and aligned with the ASCA Ethical Standards for School Counselors.
