What is DECA?

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

The four components of the organization's Comprehensive Learning Program are that DECA integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business, and promotes competition. DECA prepares the next generation to be academically prepared, community-oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders.

DECA is a student marketing organization that works as a basic component of Marketing Education programs that support and enhance school and work-based learning. The organization provides students with the proper skills, knowledge and experience to succeed in a global economy.

How Can You Join DECA?

Any student who is currently enrolled in a Marketing class (Introduction to Business & Marketing, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Travel & Tourism Destination Marketing, Marketing I, and Advanced Marketing) may join DECA.

 2023-2024 DECA Competition Dates:

  • District Leadership Conference (DLC) - December 2, 2023 Briar Woods High School

  • State Leadership Conference (SLC) - March 1-3, 2024: Virginia Beach, VA

  • International Career and Development Conference (ICDC) - April 26-May 1, 2024: Anaheim, CA

  • Star Chapter - SBE Gold Re-certified - Annual Report: Blue Chip Award recipient 

  • VA DECA State Officer: 2 outgoing State Officers & 1 incoming State Officers
