Briar Woods High School

BWHS Jazz Band I is the premier jazz band on the Briar Woods campus and is one of the finest jazz bands in the state of Virginia having been named "Outstanding Jazz Ensemble" at the Loudoun County Jazz Assessment 4 times. This consistantly superior ensemble has placed 14 students in the prestigious "All-Virginia" All-State Band since the school opened in 2005. 

Jazz Band II is the entrance level jazz ensemble that openly accepts any student that would like to learn the techniques and styles of jazz music. Any band instrument is accepted however the emphasis is to learn a traditional jazz instrument over the time that the student rehearses and performs with this group. They are also a consistantly superior ensemble in their assessments and contests.
