Surfin' With Stories Book Fair

Catch the reading wave! We’re excited to announce our upcoming Surfin’ With Stories Book Fair! From March 20 to March 28 the Scholastic Book Fair will be a vibrant celebration of timeless stories and characters. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to explore new books, foster a love of reading, and support our school’s library!

SAVE THE DATE!

BOOK FAIR DATES: Thursday, March 20th - Friday, March 28th

SHOPPING TIMES: 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM

FAMILY NIGHT: Friday, March 21st (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM)

SHOP WITH EWALLET

No cash, no fuss. eWallet is the easiest way for kids to shop and our preferred method of payment! We also accept cash, credit cards, and checks (made payable to: Discovery Elementary PTO).

NOTE: eWallets are fair-specific, so if you have leftover eWallet money from previous fairs, you can use those funds to refill your eWallet for this fair. Log in to your Scholastic account (use the same email you used originally) to create a “new” Book Fair eWallet. Your previous balance will be available to transfer as an eGift Card.

SHARE THE FAIR

We do not charge sales tax at our book fair! However, to make things easier for students, we round up prices to the nearest dollar (ex: $4.99 = $5). Rounding up purchases or donating loose change will be contributed to our Share the Fair Fundraiser - a Scholastic program that supports students at our school who need help getting new books. You can also donate directly; your contribution helps even more kids take home a book from the Fair!

We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Surfin’ With Stories Book Fair!

Hello readers! My name is Brittany Rogers (Ms. B), and I am thrilled to be returning as Discovery Elementary's librarian for my 9th year! I graduated from Longwood University in 2015 with an M.Ed. in School Librarianship, and before that, I earned a degree in English and Communication Studies from Hollins University. My goal is to create a school library that serves as a hub of learning—a place where all students can think, create, share, and grow. I believe the library is the heart of the school, and I strive to find the "just right" book for every child to make them excited about reading! I live in Leesburg with my husband Ben, our dog Apollo, cat Smudge, and ferret Baby. When I'm not curled up with a good book, you can find me thrifting, gardening, or crafting. Additionally, I am a team lead, teacher sponsor for our CARE team, run after-school anime and Pokémon clubs, and serve as the treasurer for the Loudoun Association of School Librarians (LASL).

Sincerely,

Mrs. Rogers

Hello friends! My name is Leslie Fox. This is my 4th year as Discovery’s library assistant and my 10th year working at Discovery. Before joining the library, I assisted in preschool. I live in Ashburn Farm with my husband Alex, our three children (Garrett, Emily, and Lauren), and our dogs Harley and Goose. I love gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I also love to read!

Warmly,

Mrs. Fox
