Student Registration Information
This page is for families assigned to Discovery Elementary School during preregistration. If your student is assigned to another school during pre-registration, please contact them directly.
KIndergarten Pre-Registration Information
The 2025-2026 school year pre-registration portal, for kindergarten and all new students, has opened on January 6th, 2025.
Please make sure to select the correct school year during your pre-registration application.
If you are registering your child for the 2025-2026 school year, you may submit pre-registration at https://register.lcps.org/PXP2_OEN_Login.aspx
Kindergarten registration appointment will be scheduled by our school registrar to start on February 3rd, 2025.

SAVE THE DATES
We will offer two Kindergarten Orientation dates: May 15th or May 20th
We have Kindergarten Screening days scheduled during the week of April 21st so we can collect data and information about your child that will assist us in ensuring a smooth transition for your child.
We will be in touch with families about signing up for these dates.
Follow the steps in the Online Pre-registration Getting Started Guide (ENG) (SPAN). Be sure to pick the correct school year for your student.
Kindergarten Registration Information
Your child must be 5 years of age by September 30, 2025 to attend Kindergarten in Loudoun County. Please go to lcps.org and click on Enroll/Registration. Pre-Registration online begins January 6, 2025. Do not try and register before this date for the 2025-2026 school year. Once you have pre-registered online, Mary Tam will contact you to set up an appointment for a virtual meeting. Please do not call the school for appointments. Virtual meetings with appointment for Kindergarten will begin February 3, 2025. No appointments for Kindergarten will be made before this date.
When filling out your online pre-registration you will need to upload the following documents:
-child’s original birth certificate,
-your signed, dated lease or deed or settlement papers or mortgage statement. No utility bills.
-parent photo identification, e.g. driver’s license or passport
-child’s photo
If you have your child’s physical, immunization record and TB screening, you may upload those too. For rising Kindergarten students, you need to provide up-to-date immunizations, a physical dated ON or AFTER August 22, 2023 and a TB screening dated ON or AFTER December 1, 2023. The medical documents must be submitted prior to the start of school. No student may start school without ALL the proper medical forms. Discovery 2025-2026 First - Fifth Grade Student Registration
FIRST - FIFTH GRADE REGISTRATION
Please go to lcps.org and click on Enroll/Registration. Once you have pre-registered online, Mary Tam will contact you to set up an appointment for a virtual meeting. Pre-Registrations online is available now. Do not try and register before this date for the 2024-2025 school year. Please do not call the school for appointments. Virtual meetings with appointments for Grades 1-5 will begin March 8, 2024. No appointments for Grades 1-5 will be taken before this date unless you are also registering a Kindergarten student. When filling out your online pre-registration you will need to upload the following documents:

NOTE: If your student is currently attending Discovery in grades KG-5 , you DO NOT need to re-register your child(ren) again. Only students NEW to Discovery need to register.
