Hello! I am looking forward to beginning a new year at Discovery! 

I am a Marylander, but I have loved teaching in Northern Virginia. I enjoy reading, singing, and spending time with my family, friends, and pets (Great Pyrenees, Charlotte & Two Orange Cats, Charles & Catherine)  

This summer I completed a Master in Education degree in Kodály Music Edcuation at Loyola University. My husband and I also moved to a new home, and he is looking forward to beginning his first year with LCPS as a school counselor. In music class, I focus on fostering joy and classroom connection through music learning and experiences. We will have a lot of fun this year, and please reach out if you have any questions!

Welcome to another year at Discovery Elementary! I am so excited to see new and returning students and to make music with everyone.

I graduated from Shenandoah University in 2021 with my Bachelor's in Music Education and Performance Certificate in Voice. This will be my third year teaching in LCPS and my second year here at Discovery Elementary.

I grew up in Maryland and joined choir and band as soon as I could in elementary, middle, and high school. I love singing, playing instruments, crafting, and spending time with my family and dog (Toy Poodle and Shih Tzu mix named Mia). I am currently learning how to play the guitar, as well crocheting a temperature blanket for 2023.

I look forward to making music with you this year and am excited for all of the fun things that we will be doing throughout the year.

Singing Trailblazers and Discovery Drummers

Singing Trailblazers & Discovery Drummers

Singing Trailblazers is Discovery's 4th & 5th Grade Chorus. We will have rehearsals during the school day, and more information will be coming in September.

Discovery Drummers is open to 5th Grade students. Rehearsals will be after school, with more information coming in September.

All-County Chorus 2024

All-County Chorus 2024

Students who excel vocally are given the opportunity to represent their school in county events such as All-County Chorus. 

Students at the elementary level who are selected to participate will be given the opportunity to showcase their talent at the All-County Elementary Chorus on Friday, May 3rd & Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at Riverside High School in Leesburg.

Audition materials and information will be coming home in December & posted to schoology.
