Welcome to Speech and Language Services at Discovery!

Hi! My name is Stacey Privman and the 2023-2024 school year is my 17th year as a speech-language pathologist with Loudoun County Public Schools. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Science at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey and my Master of Arts degree in Speech Pathology from Montclair State University, Upper Montclair, New Jersey. I have my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA) and I am licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

I worked for eight years at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center, a day school for children with autism, at Rutgers University. In 2002, my husband was transferred and my family moved to Carmel, Indiana. I worked part-time providing early intervention services to children ages birth to three, and also at Adams Elementary School, Sheridan, Indiana. My husband was transferred again in 2006 and we moved to Ashburn, Virginia. After getting my two children settled in school, I applied to work for Loudoun County Public Schools. I worked at Cedar Lane Elementary before opening Discovery Elementary in the fall of 2013.

Some things about me - my husband, Glenn, and I have been married for 26 years. We both grew up in New Jersey and attended Rutgers University. I am a true Jersey Girl!

Our daughter, Rachel, graduated from Radford University with a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction (she is licensed to teach elementary education.) Our son, Ethan, is now a senior at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. Go Vols! He plays club hockey and is completing his classes as a business major.

I am a HUGE Washington Capitals fan!! Hockey is a BIG sport in my house!!

I have a fur baby at home. Stassi is a four-year-old wheaton, wire-haired dachshund. She is VERY sassy and rules the house! All my students can tell you about my love of doxies!

I am looking forward to another amazing year with our students!
