Discover LCPS
School Board
Loudoun County Public Schools will offer AP exams during the College Board's 2025 exam administration window May 5-16, 2025.
Students enrolled in LCPS and Loudoun residents who are home instructed and have a current Notice of Intent (NOI) on file for the 24-25 school year may register to test. LCPS uses the state code to define students who are home instructed. Home Instructed students should submit the Home Instructed Student AP Exam Registration Form to the Testing Coordinator of their school of residence by November 8, 2024.
Students will test at school, in person.
Registration for testing will occur through a student's AP course. The AP teacher will provide students with a join code which they must use to access an online portal (MyAP). The portal contains instructional resources, practice tests, and tools to manage test registration.
Students must have a current College Board account or must create one prior to using the join code. It is important that students retain their user name and password.
Students must register for their AP exam(s) by November 8, 2024, by indicating their choice within the College Board's online portal (MyAP). Requests to register for an AP exam after November 8, if accepted, may result in a $40 fee. Students who cancel an exam after November 15, 2024 will incur a $40 cancellation fee. Students who register for an exam but do not take the exam will incur a $40 unused exam fee. These fees will be charged even if LCPS is paying for the cost of the exam. No Late Registrations or Canceled exams will be accepted after March 15, 2025.
Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, LCPS will pay for the first four AP exams that each enrolled LCPS student takes. The four exams are cumulative across the student's high school enrollment with payment required after the limit has been reached.
AP Exam Fees will be collected via SchoolCash Online after November 15, 2024. Any required payments should be made as soon as possible, but no later than March 15, 2025. If payment is not received by March 15, 2024, LCPS may cancel your student's exam(s). If payment needs to be made by cash or check, you can submit payment at your student’s home school. Exact change is required for cash payments. Checks should be addressed to “Loudoun County Public Schools”.
