Online Pre-Registration

Help for First Time Users of LCPS Online Pre-registration

Online Pre-registration is the preferred method to register a new or returning LCPS student. Make sure you have collected all required documents so that you may upload them during the Online Pre-registration process. Check the school attendance boundaries using the Attendance Zone Lookup tool (or the LCPS School Locator Dashboard ) to determine your zoned school based on your home address. If you are unable or do not wish to use Online Pre-registration, download registration forms or contact your child's zoned school.

Important! If you have more than one new or returning student to pre-register with LCPS, you must complete pre-registration information for all your students prior to clicking on Submit. Once you have submitted the online pre-registration, your child's school will contact you to schedule an appointment to complete the registration process. The process to create/activate an account to pre-register a new or returning student depends on the parent/legal guardian ParentVUE account status with LCPS.

Families New to LCPS

  • Click on the Online Pre-registration Login link or go to https://register.lcps.org.

  • Follow the steps in the Online Pre-registration Getting Started guide (ENG) (SPAN) to create your ParentVUE account and start the Online Pre-registration process.

  • On the Introduction screen, be sure to pick the correct school year for your students.

Parent of a Current LCPS Student

With an active ParentVUE account:

  • Click on the Online Pre-registration Login link at the left (top for mobile) or go to https://register.lcps.org and log in with the user name and password you use to log into ParentVUE.

  • Follow the steps in the Online Pre-registration Getting Started guide (ENG) (SPAN). Be sure to pick the correct school year for your students and Exclude any current LCPS students from the process.

Without an active ParentVUE account:

  • Contact your child’s school to obtain a copy of the Activation Key letter.

  • Click on the ParentVUE Login link at left (top for mobile) or go to https://portal.lcps.org.

  • Follow the steps in the ParentVUE - Getting Started guide (ENG) (SPAN)  to activate your account.

  • Return to this page and click on the Online Pre-registration Login or go to https://register.lcps.org and log in with the user name and password you just created.

  • Follow the steps in the Online Pre-registration Getting Started guide (ENG) (SPAN). Be sure to pick the correct school year for your students and Exclude any current LCPS students from the process.

Parents of Past LCPS Students Registering New or Returning Students

If any of your children have attended LCPS in the past, you must follow these steps:

  • Determine your zoned school based on your home address and the LCPS School Locator Dashboard.

  • Contact your zoned school to request a ParentVUE Activation Key letter.

  • Follow the steps in the ParentVUE - Getting Started guide (ENG) (SPAN) to activate your account. Since you do not have an active LCPS student, the Online Pre-registration site at https://register.lcps.org will open once you complete the account activation.

  • Follow the steps in the Online Pre-registration Getting Started guide (ENG) (SPAN) (skip the Create My ParentVUE Account section). Be sure to pick the correct school year for your students and Exclude any past LCPS students from the process who will not be re-enrolling.
