Welcome to Music at Waxpool!

All students in Grades K-5 receive music instruction for 50 minutes once a week with Mrs. Schiffler or Mrs. Williams. In music, we focus on the national artistic processes of creating, performing, responding, and connecting. We experience these processes by singing, movement, playing instruments, reading and writing music notation, evaluating music, and creating music. Our goal is to help our musicians develop their skills in a "tuneful, beatful, and artful" way. It is our hope that these musical skills will stay with them for a lifetime.

Hello Piranhas!  My name is Grace Schiffler and I am so excited to swim into another year at Waxpool!  This is my 17th year of teaching and 9th year teaching in Loudoun County.  I started my teaching career as a classroom teacher, having taught 2nd and 3rd grades, before switching to music.  I taught for 6 years in Fairfax County and 2 years in Virginia Beach.  I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors in Music and Masters of Arts in Teaching in Early Childhood Education.  I am proud to be a Double Duke!   I live in Aldie with my husband, twin daughters and family dog Jolie.

I'm looking forward to another wonderful year with our Waxpool Piranhas!

My name is Tiffany Williams and I am so excited for our fifth year making music with our Waxpool Piranhas! This is my 17th year of teaching music in LCPS. I earned my Bachelor and Master of Music Education degrees from George Mason University with concentration in flute. During that coursework I also received certification in Levels 1-3 of Orff Schulwerk and Level 1 of World Music Drumming. In the summer of 2019 I became certified in First Steps in Music.

I live in Ashburn with my husband, two boys, and our tuxedo cat Chip. I love photography, gardening, biking, coffee, and spending time with my family.

I'm looking forward to another musical year at Waxpool!
