Belmont Ridge Middle School Family Liaison, Susan Ferguson
Hello Belmont Ridge Families! My name is Susan Ferguson and I am your Belmont Ridge Family Liaison. I have been a part of the Belmont Ridge community for many years as a parent, former PTO board member, and avid volunteer. My husband and I have four sons, all of whom are Belmont Ridge alumni, and I am proud to be a part of this amazing and dynamic school community!
As your Family Liaison, I am a school employee (not a volunteer). I work to bridge the gap between home and school by helping parents get the information and support they need to ensure their child's academic and social success. As a parent, you have a private link, connection, and bridge to your child's school.
Sometimes, parents feel uncomfortable about sharing their questions or concerns with the teachers or school administration. Because good communication between home and school is such a vital part of your child's academic success, the Family Liaison will listen to your concerns and then work with you to make sure your situation, question, or point of view is expressed and understood. All conversations are strictly confidential.
If you have a question pertaining to our school but don't know who to ask, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to point you in the right direction!
But wait, there's more! As the Family Liaison at Belmont Ridge, I am excited to help support our school in the area of community service. I work with such school-based groups as the PTO, SCA, and NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) to make a difference in our community. I work with our school administrators to keep you up to date with opportunities that are available in our school for volunteering and giving back.
If you and your family find that you need some extra support, I hope that you will feel comfortable reaching out to us. I work closely with our amazing United Mental Health Team (UMHT), and we do our best to give our students everything they need to succeed at our school.
Email is typically the best way to reach me, as my hours at the school vary. My email address is Susan.Ferguson@lcps.org.
I look forward to seeing you at the 'Ridge!
