PBIS

What is PBIS?

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, three tiered framework  for establishing a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes the social/emotional, behavioral and academic success for all students. Through this framework, schools develop a common vision, language and practices that:

  1. strengthen relationships;

  2. teach and reinforce expectations;

  3. increase positive behaviors, academic achievement and equitable learning experiences; and

  4. decrease office referrals and suspensions.

The Belmont Station Elementary PBIS Committee is dedicated to creating a comprehensive PBIS program. Our school-wide matrix is currently under development and we look forward to sharing the completed product, soon.
