Engineering Techonology Career Scholars Program:
Northern Virginia Community College's Engineering Technology (ET) Career Scholars Program is a student program seeking to strengthen career pathways toward in-demand engineering technology careers. For the fall of 2024, NOVA is recruiting 40 students. The program will host 20 students on the Loudoun Campus, and 20 students on the Woodbridge Campus, where NOVA's Data Center Classrooms are located. NOVA Bridge Program Application:
NOVA's Summer Bridge Programs are focused on Engineering Technology (ET), Data Center Operations (DCO), Information Technology (IT), and Computer Science (CS). These programs provide students with an opportunity to explore either ET/DCO or IT/CS through hands-on activities and industry site visits. Students will be introduced to NOVA's campuses, offices (e.g. student services, financial aid, etc.), and career pathways. Transportation will be provided between the two participating NOVA Campus and any site tours or field trips conducted as part of the program. Students will need to drive to campus or be dropped off and picked up at the campus session closest to them each day. These programs are free, but space is limited. STEM Internship:
This NOVA internship is offered as support for our STEM summer camps in coding, cybersecurity, fabrication, programming, robotics, rocketry and STEM and is open to anyone 16 years of age or older (must be 16 by June 1, 2024). The paid internships are offered as one, two, or three weeks in duration (depending on which camp it supports). All internships also require, prior to camp week, two days of paid orientation/training (at NOVA Manassas campus) and up to a half day of camp set up (at camp location) as well as one additional day after camp week for sorting equipment and de-briefing (at NOVA Manassas campus). 2024-26 Youth Advisory Board Application:
The Northern Virginia Science Center Foundation's Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is made up of Northern Virginia high school students who contribute to the Children's Science Center Lab's goal of inspiring a love of STEM. The board meets once a month, and all members serve a two-year term. In addition to assisting with projects for the Children's Science Center Lab’s staff and departments, the members volunteer through community events and in the Lab at Fair Oaks Mall. The goals of the Youth Advisory Board are guided by the organization’s needs. The YAB's mission is to forward the Children’s Science Center Lab's mission and vision through high school student volunteerism, leadership, and collaboration. Applicants must currently be in 8th, 9th, or 10th grade.

High School and College Student Internship: Data Analytics for Elite Young Scholars - Biology and Medical Science Experience:
The Young Scholars Research Program is tailored for high-achieving high school and undergraduate students aspiring to delve into the realms of biology or medical science, with a strong focus on advanced data analytics. Participants will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with esteemed faculty members from GMU, forming interdisciplinary teams comprising 3 to 4 individuals encompassing both high school and undergraduate students. Five-Week Young Astro-Scholars Internship: Astronomy Data Analysis and Space Research for NASA Missions i - Summer 2024 
This interactive internship program combines learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and a private space revolution and its impact on astronomy and space policy. Students participating in the program will study astronomy and space sciences research projects and have the opportunity to explore the universe by remotely controlling the telescope from George Mason University Observatory. Girls In Technology Program:
Apply for Girls in Technology’s Mentor Protégé Program
Girls in Technology (GIT) is looking for interested high school girls (protégés) for the 2022-2023 Mentor Protégé (MP) Program. The Mentor Protégé Program is designed to engage, educate, and inspire high school girls about the vast array of opportunities available in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
The MP Program connects girls with over seventy professional women mentors and over one-hundred like-minded girls that will help participants identify pathways to careers in STEM. The program focuses on girls in grades 9-12. MP members attend five evening sessions, each lasting ninety minutes. The agenda typically includes networking, a speaker/panel experience and mentoring on topics such as STEM Careers.

Join the Loudoun Youth Advisory Council (YAC)!
YAC is a student-led organization of highly motivated teens who reside in Loudoun County. As a leadership development, community service, and civic engagement program, it is a great opportunity for high school students to get involved.
YAC meets twice a month – on alternating Mondays – throughout the school year to work on special events and community service projects for their peers. The Loudoun Youth Advisory Council provides numerous opportunities for volunteer hours and leadership.

CIEE Global Navigator Study Abroad Program for 9th-11th Graders / GAP Study Abroard for 12th graders
The CIEE summer abroad program for high school students allows you to choose from 50+ adventures rooted in language, service, or intriguing topics like film making or marine science. Set out for 3 to 4 weeks of hands-on learning, eye-opening group excursions, and fun activities that deeply immerse you in local culture.

Environmental Enhancements - Complete Landscape Services Internship or Apprenticeship Program  
Internship:  Provides hands-on experience for students who are interested in exploring the landscaping/horticulture industry.  Working side-by-side with experienced landscaping professionals can help you decide if landscaping is the right profession for you. As an added bonus, you will find your coursework much more useful once you have had some real-life experience.  

Apprenticeship Program Certification:  Registered by the Department of Labor and administered  by the National Association of Landscape Professionals in an association employer-driven model that combines on-the-job training with related classroom or online instruction that increases an employee's skill level and wages.  This program is an "earn and learn" model that allows an apprentice to earn wages through on-the-job training as well as earn pay increases as he or she reaches benchmarks within the program.
