Chromebook Care

Student Device Expectations

  • PreK – 11th Graders: Except for graduating seniors, all students with an assigned computer (PreK-11th grade) planning to return to LCPS next year will maintain possession of their assigned computer over the summer break.  These computers may be used for summer learning programs or securely stored in preparation for the next school year. If a student breaks or damages their assigned device over the summer, they are encouraged to reach out to the school main office and schedule a visit with the school’s assigned DES.

  • 12th Graders: Seniors will use their device through the end of senior year. Prior to leaving, the device must be returned to LCPS.

  • Students withdrawing from LCPS: Prior to leaving, the device must be returned to LCPS.

If you are leaving LCPS or retiring you might be thinking “In two years I want to read that project description for the English 10 essay on essential questions." Follow these steps:

  • If you have shared a document with someone, it will be deleted if it is in your “My Drive” even if they are an editor.  Please transfer ownership of the document to another person or move it to a Shared team drive (better option).

  • You can save all your files on your Google applications drive using “Google Takeout”.  This will convert your docs, sheets, and slides to their Microsoft equivalent and will allow you to either save them to a personal Google account or put them on a thumb drive.  Please see below for more information.

  • For Office 365 files, Naviance, WeVideo or Adobe Express, please see below as well.
