Special Programs

In support of the mission of Loudoun County Public Schools, the School Board promotes and supports the development of special programs or academies that will align with the LCPS strategic framework. Special Programs or academies are any programs that are not part of the standard approved program of studies, or which deviate from School Board policy or regulation.

Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Department of Teaching & Learning will visit the eighth-grade class at every middle school to share information about the various special programs and academies available to rising 9th-grade students.

The window for rising 9th-grade students to show interest in the Health and Medical Sciences Academy (HAMSci), International Baccalaureate (IB), and Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) is now open and will remain open until January 31st.
