Recorder Information
Here, you will find information to help you order a recorder for your student.
4th & 5th grade students will need recorders for music class beginning February 12th.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your child's music teacher.
What you need: Baroque Soprano Recorder (this has the letter B on the back)
When you need it: February 12th, 2024
What to AVOID: Toy recorders (from dollar or big box stores, avoid Aldi and Lidl instruments)/ German-style recorders (may have a G on the back, and sound out-of-tune with the finger positions we will teach.)
Our favorite brands (for ease of playing): Yamaha, Peripole
Where to get it:
LOCAL MUSIC STORES- Support the arts! Also, their recorders are usually half the price of Amazon!

Amazon does not have a great selection of recorders- after some research I might try this instrument, but note that the funky colors are not available in the Baroque model, which is what you want. If it reverts to "German", please do not purchase that instrument. It will sound out of tune in the class ensemble.
