Our goal is to help our students find joy in making music! During each music class, students work towards being "tuneful, beat-ful, artful," and independent musicians.  They will experience a variety of activities that will help them to develop musical skills in the following areas: Creating, performing, responding, and connecting (these 4 artistic processes are recognized and applied nationally.)

Welcome SLES families!  Below you will find information to help you order a recorder for your student.  4th & 5th grade students will need recorders for music class beginning January 29th.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your child's music teacher. 

Here are the basics:

What you need: Baroque Soprano Recorder (this has the letter B on the back)

When you need it: January 29th

What to AVOID: Toy recorders (from dollar or big box stores)/ German fingered recorders (they have a G on the back)

Our favorite brands (for ease of playing): Yamaha, Peripole
