My name is Ashley Barkley and I am thrilled to begin my first year as Principal at Aldie! My educational journey began at JMU, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I also earned my Master’s Degree in School Counseling at Marymount University. I then earned a postgraduate certificate from George Washington University in Administration and Leadership.

This will be my 18th year as an educator in LCPS. Prior to this role, I was the Assistant Principal at Lovettsville Elementary for 9 years. I was a School Counselor at Sterling Middle School prior to my role as an AP. Throughout all of my positions in LCPS, my focus has been on student success, not only academically, but also emotionally. I believe that all students should come to school each day and feel loved and supported, while learning new things. I am passionate about fostering a positive school environment where all students are engaged and learning.
