Hello Aldie Bobcats!

Hi everyone! My name is Madison Maynard and I will be the part-time school counselor at Aldie Elementary this year! I was born in Leesburg but grew up in Winchester where I currently live with my husband, our two boys (ages 2 years and 2 months!) and our 2 dogs. This will be my 7th year as a school counselor. I have previously worked in Oklahoma, Colorado, and West Virginia, but I am most happy being back home in Virginia! I am a certified yoga teacher (RYT-200) and am currently finishing my Post-Master's Educational Leadership Certificate at JMU. In my free time, I love being with my family and friends and working on home improvement projects! I am so excited to meet you all and looking forward to a wonderful year ahead!

When schools are closed, please use this resource: Student Mental Health Services to secure mental health services for you or your child(ren).

The school counselor is the first point of contact for initial student concerns.  The school counselor will collaborate and plan for supports with other school-based mental health team members (i.e., school psychologist, school social worker, student assistance specialist), as appropriate.

Aldie ES Mental Health Team

Aldie Elementary School’s Unified Mental Health Team (UMHT) – comprised of school counselors, psychologist, and social worker – offers mental health services and supports to enhance student social, emotional, and behavioral growth. This team of school-based mental health professionals works with students, families, school staff, and outside providers to promote a positive school environment that supports student success and ability to cope with challenges through direct (e.g., classroom curriculum, group counseling and individual counseling) and indirect (e.g., collaborating or consulting with staff, families or communities) methods.
