Mrs. Varachi

Mrs. Varachi

My name is Christine Varachi and I am so excited to start my second year as librarian at Aldie Elementary this year!  I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and am a proud Tar Heel fan.  Early in my career I taught fourth and fifth grade and then studied at The Catholic University of America to become a librarian.  I have been a librarian in the county for 14 years and have worked at Ashburn ES, Liberty ES, Madison’s Trust ES and Lucketts ES during my time here.  I love teaching students about reading and information literacy and I even wrote a book called The Tibrarian Handbook to help other librarians.

In my free time, I enjoy reading (of course!), baking, and watching movies with my family.  I have a husband named Joe, a 14-year-old daughter named Katie and a loveable mutt named Cookie.  I can’t wait to continue sharing my love of reading and learning with all of the students at Aldie!
