Dual Enrollment Classes
What Is Dual Enrollment?
Dual Enrollment is an enrichment opportunity that allows high school/home-schooled students to earn college credits for courses taken through NOVA while still being enrolled in high school. As a dual-enrolled student, you are enrolled in both high school (or home school) and NOVA.
NOVA’s Dual Enrollment program is accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment and Partnerships (NACEP). NOVA is the only institution of higher learning in the Commonwealth of Virginia to hold this distinction.

After Registering for a DE class at Briar Woods, Can I Withdraw?
The short answer is yes. However, you must adhere to NVCC guidelines regarding the withdrawal timeline. Please see your counselor and/or current teacher for specific dates/deadlines.
DE Online Withdrawal Process
Dual enrolled students are responsible for requesting to withdraw (Form 125-03) from their DE classes, using this link
Dual enrolled students will use their myNOVA credentials to access the withdrawal form and will select one or more enrolled DE classes to withdraw.
The withdrawal form is then routed to the assigned DE instructor and the Office of Dual Enrollment for review and approval.
Check your VCCS email for the status of your request.
After completing the steps above you must still speak with your high school counselor.
How do I order a Dual Enrollment Transcript?
Dual Enrollment NOVA students - VERIFY FINAL grades have been POSTED on the NVCC transcript *, then order the FINAL transcript to send to your attending school.
ISR students - VERIFY FINAL grades have been POSTED on GMU transcript*, then order the FINAL transcript to send to your attending school.
* There is a fee when you order a NVCC or GMU transcript. NVCC and GMU document ordering sites does not give you the option to select "Hold For Grades". If you do not verify final grades were on your transcript, you may be ordering a transcript without grades.
