Mr. Scott Phillips is the proud principal of his neighborhood middle school, Eagle Ridge, which recently earned a “Distinguished” rating from the Virginia Dept of Education, and was ranked 3rd in the state of Virginia in Overall School Performance. Mr. Phillips began at Eagle Ridge in the 2013-14 school year, after an 11 year stint as the Principal and Assistant Principal at Stone Middle School in Fairfax County. Prior to that, he was an English teacher and athletic coach for 14 years. Both of Mr. Phillips’ sons attended Eagle Ridge and Briar Woods High School, where his wife Amanda works as a teacher. Mr. Phillips is a graduate of Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, where his oldest son also attended. He earned his second Master’s degree from George Mason University, which is also where his wife attended college. He also possesses an Automotive Machinist certificate from NVCC, and is an avid classic Oldsmobile restorer, as well as the award-winning editor of The Rocket Review Quarterly.
