Mrs. Bethany Waterfall

Hello Hamilton Families!

My name is Bethany Waterfall and I am so happy to be the Gifted Resource Teacher for the Panthers. I work with all grade levels, kindergarten to fifth grade at Hamilton and Waterford Elementary Schools. This will be my tenth year of teaching and fifth year with LCPS.  I previously taught for five years in Fairfax County.

I attended Clarion University in Pennsylvania for my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education, and ODU for my Master's Degree in Leadership and Administration.  I consider myself a lifelong learner and will be completing coursework through UVA for a gifted education endorsement. I am also a proud Loudoun County resident and live in Lovettesville with my husband, Ned, and our identical twin daughters, Lillian and Evelyn. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, taking trips to the beach, reading, drinking coffee, and playing outside with my girls and dog, Rey. I'm looking forward to a great year learning together!

Gifted Education Program Goals

The goals of the LCPS Gifted Education Department are based on Art Costa's 21st century thinking skills.

Our SEARCH curriculum is developed to help students:

  • become divergent creative thinkers who recognize problems and solve them.

  • construct personal meaning and understanding of others and of the world around them.

  • develop the capacity for self assessment (ownership of the learning)
