The HMS Drama Program links parent volunteers and outside theatre experts to offer drama in our middle school.

Each year, Harmony presents a musical. A casting panel selects students who demonstrate vocal and dramatic preparation, discipline, as well as the ability and maturity to commit to a rigorous rehearsal schedule and work well with others. Auditions are followed by a rehearsal schedule with this year’s show, Beauty and the Beast, Jr., being performed the weekend of April 12-14, 2024.

Whether through drama education or performance, HMS students have many opportunities for creative expression.

Thank you, everyone, for your interest in our spring musical, Beauty and the Beast.  We had three times as many students try out for both cast and crew roles as who we were able to take.  There's lots of talent at Harmony, and it showed!

At this time, here is our cast and crew list.  If you are out of town, please send an Email Meghann Donohue to accept your role.

Mandatory Parent Meeting:  Tuesday, Dec 5th from 7 to 8 pm in the cafeteria.

First read-through / rehearsal:  Wednesday, Dec 6th.  After school until 6 pm.  Cafeteria.

Audition Workshops:

You must attend one of the audition workshops prior to attending an audition.  Audition Workshops are Wednesday, November 8th and Thursday, November 9th held after school until 5:30p.m.

Auditions:

Auditions will be held November 14 (6th and tech crew), November 15 (7th and 8th grade), and November 16 (call-backs) from 3:45 until 6 pm.  You MUST attend one of the audition days AND be available on November 16th if you are interested in a lead role for call backs (please note not everyone gets a call back, and getting a call back does not guarantee a role). ** If you would like to be in the tech crew, you are asked to attend the audition on Nov 14th.

2) Beauty and the Beast Jr. audition form given at the workshop (must be filled out, signed and brought back on your audition day)
