Dr. Di Nicola is an innovative, thoughtful, dedicated leader who has served Loudoun County Public Schools for the past twenty-one years, most recently as Supervisor of School Administration.  Entering his twenty-eighth overall year in education, Dr. Di Nicola has taught French, Japanese, and Spanish at the secondary and university levels. He is also a part-time professor in the career switcher program for Shenandoah University and teaches graduate courses in educational leadership at George Mason University and George Washington University.

Dr. Di Nicola opened River Bend Middle School as a teacher and dean in 2002, Smart’s Mill Middle School as an assistant principal in 2004, and later Riverside High School as an assistant principal in 2015. Dr. Di Nicola is excited to build collaborative, authentic communication and relationships with students, staff, and families to continue the excellence established at Simpson as an iconic community-driven school. He believes in engaging the creative voices and talents of staff to empower each and every student to discover individual pathways that lead to personal growth and unique opportunities for leadership at the middle school level and beyond.

In his spare time, Dr. DiNicola enjoys running, playing piano/keyboards, composing music, and spending quality time with his family, friends, and eight-month old puppy, Ollie.

Mr. Dungan is a native Virginian, born and raised in Richmond County, on Virginia’s Northern Neck.  He is a graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Secondary Education.  He earned his Master’s degree from The University of Virginia in Educational Leadership and Supervision. In addition to having taught 7th and 8th grade English, Mr. Dungan has also served as a dean at both River Bend Middle School and Harmony Middle School, and as assistant principal at Eagle Ridge Middle School.

Mrs. McIntosh has been an educator for 18 years and began her career in education as a science teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science, Master of Teaching degree, and Educational Specialist degree, all from the University of Virginia.  She served as a dean for several years at Willard Middle School before joining the admin team at Simpson. She also taught Physical Science at Swanson Middle School in Arlington, Virginia and Holmes Middle School in Alexandria, Virginia, and Earth Science and Environmental Science at Salem High School in Salem, Massachusetts. 

Mrs. McIntosh is passionate about hands-on learning, creating meaningful learning experiences, and in the power of teamwork and connection. She currently lives in Round Hill, VA with her husband and two kids.  When not delving into all things education, she can be found cheering on UVA, coaching her daughter’s basketball and softball teams, or convincing her son to play one more game of basketball with her! As a Northern Neck native, she loves fishing, crabbing, and spending time on the water.
