Advanced Placement (AP)
AP classes are college-level academic courses that culminate with an exam at the end of the year. AP classes hold a higher point value and are "weighted" by 1.0 in comparison to regular academic courses. The exam is scored on a 1 – 5 point scale. With qualifying exam scores, a student can earn credit, advanced placement or both at the majority of colleges and universities. Explore additional information on AP Courses directly on the College Board AP website.
